LoveisCool Lightning to USB Cable Review

I’m a firm believer that one can never have too many charging cables. And as far as replacement iPhone charging cables are concerned, these LoveisCool ones are top-of-the-line cables. I’ve been using them for a week and have had no issues. Some replacement cables I’ve tried have a looseness at the Lightning (iPhone) end. Not these. I also like the length of 9 feet. Makes it easier to charge at night, while at work, or just hanging out on the couch. The 3-pack makes it easy to share. I’m using one, my wife is using one and I gave away the other one to someone in need…and so can you.

QQPOW 2 in 1 Cable Review

I was surprised and intrigued when I saw the QQPOW 2 in 1 Cable. A cable that can charge both Android AND iPhones? Seriously interested! Unfortunately, the excitement didn’t last long. Why? I can’t charge my iPhone 6S Plus with this while it’s still in the Otterbox case because the connector base is too wide (I ALWAYS keep my iPhone in a case…the replacement cost is just too much for me not to). I did briefly remove my iPhone from the case and tried charging it, and it did work. I was also able to use it on my old MotoX while it was still in that Otterbox case (a positive there). I let it charge for over an hour, and the charging rate seemed quite slow. After an hour, it had only increased the charge by 15-20% (I have an item on order that will be able to tell me the charge rate…I’ll update if needed). It’s a great idea, a neat conversation piece, and okay to use for an emergency charge if you don’t have another cable handy, but I don’t recommend this item for everyday use at this time.

RenGard Jump-Starter Power Station Review

I had to replace the battery in my truck a couple of months ago, so I really could have used this RenGard Jump-Starter Power Station at that time. However, I did run down the battery (by leaving my headlights on for several hours) and tried jump starting it with this device. My first attempt failed. I checked the connections and tried again, but it still didn’t work. I finally realized I still had the headlights one (not that they were shining very brightly by this time). Once I turned them off, my next jump start attempt succeeded! I’m not sure why, but I was a little dubious that this product would work. It exceeded my expectation and worked quite well.

MyPhaser X10 Stun Gun Review

I’m one of those weird people who’ve always wondered what it would be like to be tazed. So when I decided to test the MyPhaser X10 Stun Gun, I knew I was going to be the testee. Begrudgingly, my wife finally agreed to use it on me. Let me tell ya something; this will definitely get your attention. I’m not lying; it hurt…and that was with only a one second jolt! If you use this on an attacker, I’m confident it will stun them long enough for you to make an escape. The only thing I don’t like is you can’t have it in flashlight and stun mode at the same time. Still, I would consider this an effective self-defense item.

BranBox Comfort Memory Foam Car Seat Cushion Review

BranBox cushion

I have lower back and coccyx (tailbone) pain and have been using coccyx cushions for many years. A few months ago, the brand I had been using changed their design to a less dense cushion rendering it useless for me. There isn’t a large variety of these types of cushions to choose from, so I was very excited to find this one.

Unfortunately, this cushion did not relieve my pain. To be fair, I am in the midst of a really bad flare-up and am getting ready to have a series of Cortisone shots in my back. It’s possible this cushion will help more after those procedures. You also have to realize one size does not fit all when it comes to back and tailbone pain relief. What works for one person may make another person much worse.

As far as the construction of this product, it’s well made and probably one of the most durable-looking cushions I’ve seen.

With all of that in mind, I’ve decided on a three star review (for now) but will definitely continue to reevaluate it as I’m able.
