Honey Land Honeycomb Review

I love honey and a honeycomb is even sweeter. It had been a long time since I had an actual honeycomb, but this Honey Land Raw Honeycomb is so delicious. It took a little getting used to eating the comb part again, but I’ve devoured about half of this so far. I’m trying to pace myself because I’ve read eating too much at once can cause gastrointestinal blockage, and I definitely don’t need that.

Ningmeng Crossbody Sling Bag Review

For days whenever I don’t take my laptop to work, my backpack is too large to carry the few items I need to take with me. The Ningmeng Crossbody Sling Bag is a alternative for those days. I can carry my EDC (Every Day Carry) items with me and not feel like I’m carrying an empty backpack. Another good option for this bag is for the bicycle. It has just enough room to carry my phone, identification, snacks and my ever-present power pack. It feels like it’s well made and I hope to get much life out of it. I have a bike ride coming up in October, so I’ll update this review afterwards and let you know how it performs.

Aityvert Solar Light Review

I’m a huge fan of LED lights. Whether they’re for the vehicle, home, deck, bicycle or emergency kit. I love LEDs! So when I saw the opportunity to review these Aityvert Solar Lights, I didn’t hesitate. A little background info, we currently have some Mr. Beams lights that don’t light at all until there’s motion (they’re great, BTW). But these are different in that there’s a low level light always shining once it’s dark enough. Once they detect motion, WOW are they bright. We have two of these on our deck and they light it up well when approaching the deck. After 30 seconds, they return to the lower setting. Check out my video review to see just how bright these are.

FOCUSAIRY Expanding Water Hose Review

I had to throw out our previous garden hose and was in the market for a new one when I stumbled across this Focusairy expanding hose. I’ve been curious about these expanding water hoses, so decided I’d test it out. The hose works well. I like how it expands, then contracts to a manageable size when finished. It holds the pressure well and does not kink (huge bonus).

There are two reasons why I’m deducting a star in my review:
1. The smell. I don’t know why, but this hose has a horrible odor. Perhaps it’s due to the manufacturing process and/or the materials used. Either way, it just stinks. It even rubbed off onto my hands whenever I was using it. I had to wash my hands several times to get the odor to go away. Since both my wife and I have asthma and are sensitive to some strong odors, this is a very big deal. BTW, this did not set me off in an asthma attack and I’ve not had my wife around it out of an abundance of caution.
2. The included spray nozzle is plastic and feels very flimsy. I’m not confident it will last very long.

Make sure you read the instructions and precautions carefully. Failing to do so could reduce the usability and lifespan of this product.

QICENT Charging Station Review

We’ve been using the QICENT Charging Station for charging our devices at night. It’s nice to have one place to plug everything into and not need multiple plugs (and iPad wall warts) in a power strip. Everything gets neatly plugged into this dock. It seems to have good charging speed and a nice design.
I do have a couple of issues with this device. First, the space provided to cradle the phone is not wide enough for our iPhones with Otterbox cases. Perhaps if one had a thin (or no) case, it would work well. Second, and more importantly, it’s annoying to have the USB plugs on the back of the device. If you turn around the device, then the power cord is sticking out 3-4 inches. I’m not sure why they designed it in this manner, except to have their name easily viewable, but I don’t like that part of it.
